VideoMic with Rycote Lyre Suspension System plus Black Windshield
The RODE VideoMic on-camera shotgun mic with Rycote Lyre suspension system is the choice microphone for thousands of video creators. The K-Tek KR-50-180 Fur Windshield is intended to be used as an extra layer of wind protection; fitting over existing foam windscreens and plastic windshields. This Windsock is made of top-grade synthetic fur and measures 1.96 x 7.08" (50 x 180mm), which allows it to fit snugly over the Rode Video Mic and windscreen. The Wind Muff greatly reduces wind noise when recording in windy conditions.
RODE partnered up and innovated the new VideoMic complete with the Rycote Lyre suspension system in response to the original videomic's user feedback. The Lyre shockmount has been well regarded across the industry as best in class. While the previous VideoMic relied on a series of bands to hold and isolate the mic, the new version offers a much stronger and solid innovative design. No more worrying about replacing silicon bands!
Combining a battle tested clean sounding capsule with the new shockmount allows HDSLR shooters to attain broadcast quality audio. While the shoemount allows the RODE VideoMic to quickly attach to most any camcorder or DSLR, where the VideoMic really shines is when threaded via the 3/8" socket to a boompole and placed closely to the subject.
The RØDE VideoMic is a professional grade 1/2" condenser shotgun microphone designed for use with consumer video cameras and personal audio recorders.
The integrated Rycote® Lyre® based shock mounting system isolates the VideoMic capsule and electronics from its all-metal shoe mount, providing isolation from external physical factors that may cause unwanted rumble and vibrations in the microphone. Constructed from a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic, the Lyre® provides superior acoustic suspension to traditional elastic solutions, and will never wear out, sag or snap.
Its standard sized shoe mount also includes a 3/8" thread in the base for easy mounting on a boom pole or stand.
By employing a super-cardioid polar pattern the VideoMic becomes highly directional, focusing on the subject in front of the camera, and minimising any surrounding sounds.
In addition to the microphone's native 40Hz-20kHz response a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz is available, which will prevent low end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded.
A -10dB and -20dB level attenuation (or PAD), selectable from inside the battery compartment, allows recording of loud sound sources, such as live music or motorsport.
The RØDE VideoMic directional on-camera microphone is designed in Australia and covered by RØDE Microphones' industry leading 10 year warranty.
Featuring a tight pickup area that focuses on your subject and reduces other surrouing noise, the RODE VideoMic is designed for simplicity of operation so you don't need to be an expert to get professional results.
Its integrated Lyre suspension by Rycote acts to isolate the microphone from knocks and bumps that could otherwise interfere with your sound. With a High-Pass Filter to minimize distracting low frequencies, and a three stage PAD to allow the recording of loud sound sources, the VideoMic is everything you need to record crystal clear audio to match the high definition video of today's cameras.
