Hey, Joel Wallis here, with the DVEStore. So today, I wanted to show you a really cool battery option for extending the life out of your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K Camera. All right. For those of you who have been using the battery that comes with your Blackmagic camera, and you're realizing that you really don't get a lot of time out of that battery, I did some test with it. And you get about 43 minutes of recording time with that Canon battery, and it takes about four hours to charge that guy. With the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE, this here is a v mount battery with the kit that allows you to mount it to the bottom of your camera. And you're gonna get three hours of recording time, and it only takes two and half hours to charge up the battery.
So the key features with this battery kit, it allows you to be able to quick release on and off the battery, to and from the camera. It has a digital readout on the back here, so then you can see real time of how much power is still left in the battery. You also get two USB ports to be able to power up some accessories. You also get a DTAP to power up another accessory. And then, you also have another DTAP to be able to charge the battery. It will come with the dummy battery that goes into where your LP battery would go into the camera. And then, it connects straight into the battery here. You will need to remove the battery door from the bottom of the camera, since there's no cord slot for the power cord to lay into. Inside the box does include a charger. So when you buy the Powerbase kit, it comes with everything that you'll need.
I also have added here, the SHAPE, their camera cage with the top handle. This allows for additional accessories to be mounted to the camera. And it also has a nice top handle for doing handheld shots, doing smooth, fluid motion, like so. You can also adjust the top handle with just of a button, so you can position it wherever you want it to be. I'm also using a ZEISS Prime lens. This is from their Milvus line. This is a 35mm and then, I'm using the Metabones Speed Booster, it is the ULTRA 0.71x, to convert from the EF mount to the Micro Four Thirds that the Blackmagic camera uses.
So all in all, this is an excellent choice of a battery to go with if you're looking for compact and still being able to keep handheld and not havin' it too heavy. And you get three hours of recording time. So any questions, feel free to email me at email@example.com. Stay tuned for our next episodes.
